Same Song....Second Verse

Cloudy....Rainy....Overcast.....I know that come July and August, we will be wishing we had saved some of these days.
Breakfast with Jim Bentley today. These past few weeks have been good for me and have helped me find a stable place emotionally and spiritually. I look forward to my Wednesdays.

I continue to focus upon the task at hand. To learn to walk daily obeying what I "hear" God saying. Sometimes I'm good at it. Other times I wonder if I will ever learn. I guess that is the gist of being an imperfect human following a perfect God. Thank you for Your grace today LORD.

Hebrews addresses these issues:
Hebrews 5
V.12- For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principals of the oracles of God; and you have come to
need milk and not solid food.
We should be older spiritually but because we have not taken serious this call to follow Jesus, some find themselves still 'babes' not being able to progress to sold food of the word and the relationship but still lapping and drinking the milk.

V.13 - For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Sometimes we read verses like this and think to ourselves...of course babes need only milk. The difference in this example is that we choose to remain babes. We choose to not grow. To not move on and delve deeper into the Word of God. We want to remain babes because it is comfortable and no one expects a lot from us. Ouch! It's time for me to grow up before I grow older.

V.14- But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
I like this verse. Those who are full of age---this does not compute linear age of years, but spiritual maturity. Notice is says, "by reason of use have their senses exercised." It is about practicing and walking and trying and risking and messing up and getting it wrong only to get up and try it again. That is how you grow! As you grow and learn, you become better at hearing God and discerning what is and what isn't from Him.

Get into Hebrews 5 for yourself and see what God would say to you.
God on you today!
