One In Spirit

Psalm 133
How good and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down the beard,
running down on Aaron's beard,
Down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Mount Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forever more.
The picture above is of Mount Hermon.
98 % of the water in Israel comes from this mountain as the snow cap melts and
runs down into the valleys below.
IT is a source of life that falls from above and blesses everyone and everything as
it melts and begins the rundown.
Psalm 133 is speaking of unity.
Unity of natural families.
Unity of countries.
Most importantly, unity of the body of Christ.
This unity can only come from God as His Holy Spirit moves over His people, the church.
The unity flows down like the dew or water from Mount Hermon and brings life with it.
This unity written about in Psalm 133 is compared to the anointing oil used to anoint the priest.
In particular it mentions Aaron, Moses' brother.
In our modern times we use oil.....but we use it sparingly.
We would not want to soil anyone clothes if we were anointing them.
God does not do anything sparingly.
He abundantly pours out as we read in this Psalm.
Running down the beard, running down to the collar of the robe.
We are not to desire a small anointing, we are to ask for the full measure.
To be doused, if you will, with the Spirit of God.
Beyond measure.
Beyond what we can stand.
Beyond what our minds can think.
We are to be soaked in the Spirit of God.
One of the by products of this anointing is love and unity.
Not the syrupy, man-made stuff we try to create and label from God here on this planet,
but the real, deal, heaven-sent, love that can only come as the Spirit of God
works in our hearts.
The last part of Psalm 133 says that "This is the place the Lord bestows his blessing, even
life forever more."
I want that anointing.

Father...
I would that you would pour out on all who read this posting today
an abundant, over the top, anointing of your Holy Spirit.
That we would begin to lay down the reasons and point that have caused division
and that we would seek your will in the body of Christ.
Blessed be your name today, O Lord.
In Jesus Name, I pray...
Amen!
Until tomorrow...
God on you...
