Every Breath I Take

Psalm 150:6
"Let everything that has breath praise the LORD, Praise the LORD!

What a wonderful Easter.
The words of Psalm 150:6 is exactly what we did yesterday. We threw aside our inhibitions and hindrances and simply and wonderfully "praised the LORD!"
Did you notice what the verse really said?
Who is it that is to praise God? Everyone and everything.
Not just those who are saved.

I truly believe that even the lost, at some point, have a lucid moment where they truly realize that there is a God.
A God greater than themselves who gives life to His creation.
A God who truly does love them, even though the devil works his hardest to perpetrate a lie that God is angry and mad and wants to sling lightning bolts down on the heads of those who are lost.
Now I am not a universalist who believes that everyone goes to heaven regardless of whatever choice they make. I simply believe in the words of Romans 2:4.
"Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?"

Did you catch that? God's kindness leads to repentance. Not his anger to drive you there out of fear. Not his wrath to drive you with a heavy hand. It is God's kindness and His love at work in this world that leads people, through the conviction of sin, to the saving hand of God. That alone should be reason for everything that has breath to praise the LORD.

"Praise Him for His mighty deeds." -- What has God done for you? What has God performed in you? These things are the basis of our praise. The change God has brought forth in our lives that has taken us out of darkness and into a living place of illumination where we can walk and talk with God. I think that would fall under the list of  "mighty deeds".

This is the reason God commands us to remember Him and what He has done. It keeps the truth of who God is fresh in our minds and spirits. It is very important to take time to reflect on God's hand in our life.
Maybe He saved you from a car wreck.
Maybe He was a present help and strength when you were going through a dark and difficult time.

Maybe He was the only friend you had for a while.
Whatever it is that God did for you, you need to reflect, remember and then praise Him.
Picture this (actually what I am suggesting is to do this) you are driving in your car to work this morning.
While doing so.......scream at the top of your lungs..."THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME!!!!"
I know, I know...
You'll feel foolish and embarrassed. "What will the other cars around me think?" Well, to be honest, they will think you are listening to a classic rock station and you are simply singing along with Creedence Clearwater Revival "Down On The Corner".

Try this.
You might be surprised!
After all.....
He is Risen!

God on you....
