We are approaching the holiday season where society dolls out greed and avarice and a little bit of the birth of Jesus just to keep us on the safe side and not go to hell.
I think that it is very appropriate that Thanksgiving comes before Christmas.
That our attention should be focused on God the Father, the sustains and gives all good gifts.
The Pilgrims gave thanks because they had survived in this new land through the help of their Indian neighbors. (that's Native American if you belong to the PC set).
Sharing a meal.
The very basis of life..........food, became the focal point of this thanksgiving.
Why food?
Because it represented life.
The settlers had harvested the land.
They were eating the bounty from the work of their hands.
Psalm 136:25 - He gives food to every living thing...His faithful love endures forever.

During this coming season, turn your attention toward God and be thankful!
Don't let this world rain in the parade and draw your attention into the dark and depressive places of the devil and his kingdom.
I Thessalonians 5:16-18 - Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
Wow!
No matter what happens, always be thankful. I promise you that the only way this can happen is to keep our attention, our minds, and our hearts on Jesus. Looking to him to fulfill every need in every hour.

Philippians 4:8 - And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Walk in a manner that is worthy of the calling that Jesus has extended to us, his followers.
We are called to walk above the distraction and noise of this world.
We hear a higher voice calling us to rise up and be salt and light in this world of darkness.

God on you......
