Essentials For The New Life --- Part 4

Revelation 12:11
.....And they overcome him (the Devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

The quicker we come to the understanding that we truly have an enemy who works night and day to destroy us, the quicker we can learn how to battle his attacks.
In the first lesson, we saw that once we have been saved, we must learn to live under the authority of Christ. In other words....be careful about decisions and plans that we make, and be sure that we are following what Scripture directs us to do rather than our own fleshly (sinful) desires and wants. John 14:26 tells us: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. So in this new life we have found with Jesus, God will place within us His Holy Spirit to help guide us and direct us in our decision making. Cool beans!

In the second part of this series, we saw that we needed to develop some passion for this new life. This new way of living is a gift given to us by Jesus. There should be gratitude that we don't have to live like we use to. A desire to not go back to the old life.

Part three showed us that we need to be prepared for this warfare that the devil brings our way. One of the main things that we need to incorporate in our lives is discipline. According to scripture we have been given everything we need to walk out this new life with Christ, our part is to do the daily disciplines....praying, worshiping, studying the Bible, and helping others. Top all of this off with the need to be connected to a community of believers who can strengthen us.

# 4 -  Believe You Can Win --- Vision

Faith! Believe is more than a verbal confession of something. Belief is the assurance and understanding that is connected to our trust in Jesus. We rely on, we cling to, we lay hold of, we lash ourselves to the simple fact that Jesus is who He claims to be.........and will do what He has promised to do.
we see such a statement of vision of what Jesus can do in us and through us in Psalm 18:29: For by You I can run against a troop.....by my God I can leap over a wall. Here King David confesses his faith in God. He states that by the power of God he can overcome an opposing army. With the strength of God, David can leap over walls. The truth that burns in David's heart is that the enemy's army and obstacles will fall before him as God directs David's path.

Don't let the enemy rob you of what is rightfully yours.
Stand firm in the knowledge of Christ and in the power of His might.
Let the Word of God richly dwell in you.
Realize that your prayers are not futile but are the very substance that stirs the heart of God himself to act on your behalf.
Today....
This coming 24 hour period...
You no longer have to live in the darkness of sin/addiction.
You truly can be free.

God on you....
