Faith

Romans 1:8
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

Paul addressing the members of the church at Rome.
What an incredible testimony to these people.
The very idea that their faith has not been confined to the place that they meet in......
That their faith has not been confined to the city of Rome itself....
But that their faith has been passed from church to church as an example of how to live in Christ.

What do people say when they speak of your church?
What do people say when they speak of Vineyard Recovery Fellowship?
Is it about the faith of those who attend?
Or is it about something else.

If we are saved by faith....
If we are called to walk by faith...

If we are given the gift of grace in our faith....
shouldn't our faith be the very hallmark on which our church stands.
Not faith in our own ability, but rather faith in Christ.
Faith that declares to the entire world that no matter what happens to us we will remain focused and following this Jesus.
That our faith is a part of something as old as creation.

I love Hebrews 11 -- some refer to it as the "FAITH" chapter. Or the Hall of Faith hero's.

As you read through the chapter, you see the words  "By Faith" followed by a name and explanation of the exercise of their faith.
example: By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

On and on the list goes...
name after name...

What if every believer is having their name to this ongoing saga?
What if God were still adding to this chapter as each person who professes their love and life for Jesus walked out their days?
How would your verse read?
How would my verse read?
