They Threw It Away

Romans 1:21-22
Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools.

Bowls of soup for our birthright, and inheritance.
Cup of hot tea for the promises.
A sandwich for the seed in my heart.
A feeling for my faith...
Such are the things that we throw away.
Such are the things we trade off to appease our fleshly appetite.
Our sin nature, if you will.
Throw away? Why would we do that?
Because we can't see the value of them....
You can't fully understand  the value of the promises of God until you find the value of Him.

We trade and give away the eternal things of God, for a temporary satisfaction of our flesh.
We can't see tomorrow because of today.
We will worry about tomorrow when it gets here.
We have to take care of the right now craving we are going through.
That insatiable "itch" that won't go away.
That itch that fills our minds with a voice that screams to be satisfied.
To be fed...
To be taken care of.

But there is one....
yet there is three....
God.
He stands as Father of all fathers. Your own earthly father may have let you down and hurt you in unspeakable ways.
He won't.
He stands as Son. Ready to act on your behalf as the Father directs Him.
And He stands as the ultimate Spirit. He is the comforter. The guide to direct us through this maze we call life. Using the truth of God as a weapon, He will defend us against all lies and deception the enemy...a.k.a. the devil, will throw at us.

Addiction has a voice. It is smooth and soothing to the soul that does not walk with God.
It whispers sweet delights and the only thing required to feast at its table is to surrender will an life over to its care.
To simply choose what it offers at the expense of knowing God.
In fact, addiction will tell you that it can coexist with God.
Twisted logic and dark hearts are not a good combination.
As it fills you with empty promises, it leads you down the path to destruction.
Don't be fooled by this voice.

Cry out to God right now....right where you are...if anything you've read strikes a chord in your heart.
Cry out for Him to come and reveal Himself to you.
Cry out for Him to come and save you from the darkness that wants to destroy you.
God will never forsake you.

God on you....
