THE Power

Luke 1:37
For with God, nothing will be impossible.

We speak about the POWER of God....
We try to pigeon hole it into different categories so as to understand how He works.....
Over here we have physical healing.....
In this cubby hold we have His power to save.....
Up here in this particular slot we have His power to provide for our material needs....

And on and on, on and on, we try to dissect, probe and wrap our finite minds around the workings of an infinite God.

I don't understand the How....
I do know the WHO though. Maybe that is what faith is really all about. Believing in spite of not being able to explain or understand the object of your faith.
Case in point.....
Good friend of ours, Seth Barber, had a terrible accident thirteen days ago. He was working on an old garage door opener, when the spring that drives the mechanism came loose and whipped around, hitting Seth in the arm (between elbow and wrist). Nasty, terrible lacerations....laid his arm completely open. Shattered the bone. Of course Seth was rushed to the emergency room, loosing blood all along the way. Surgery required to put his arm back together. Over forty stitches to close all the wounds. Pain times 10 the whole time this is going on. So what do we do? We pray.

Another friend, Greg Birdwell, gave Seth a word that God was not only going to heal Seth, but it would be a speedy, complete healing. That has been our, Vicki and me, prayer  that we have prayed during our daily quiet time. Well, I talked with Seth yesterday, he told me that he'd just gotten back from the doctor. Doctor wanted to see how the arm was healing. Now remember, yesterday was only twelve days removed from the accident. When the doctor took the bandages off to see the arm, he was amazed. In fact, he was so amazed that he called others to come and look at Seth's arm. See, the arm was healing faster than normal. The doctor told Seth that it looked like the accident had happened over a month ago instead of 12 days. He went on to say that he'd never seen anything like this before. This is the reality, and the evidence of a God who heals.

A God who heals physical bodies....
A God who heals mental problems...
A God who heals and saves those whose heart is still in darkness.....
A God who is not limited by, nor stopped by anything this world has to offer.
Truly I can say this morning....
"For with God, nothing will be impossible."

God on you....
