Isn't it amazing that we will expend ourselves on everything but God? We will spend energy on getting and possessing the things we think will bring great comfort to our lives, but when it comes to God, we think that he should seek us out. After all, He is God and we are mere mortal humans.
If God wants to bless me, then let Him come and do it. Don't ask me to go somewhere or participate in something in order to get the blessing. If God wants me saved, then He can come back to row 12, seat #4 in my church and save me. This whole seeking thing is not for me.
Isn't it funny that when we were out there running from pillar to post in our addiction, finding what we needed to satisfy that craving was all part of the game. You had no trouble seeking! You were going to exhaust every avenue, use everyone around you, and turn over every stone along the way until you found your drug of choice. Why? Because we were totally sold out to the addiction. It didn't matter what time of the day it was.....it didn't matter what the weather was....we were going to get what we needed. It could be 20 degrees below, but you'd be out there in shorts and flipflops seeking out your DOC.
That same urgency we felt for our drug can be turned into a urgency for God. That same desire to move everyone and everything to get to our drug can be the same desperation that fuels us to chase after God.
Great words from Isaiah 55:6-7
Seek the LORD while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near. Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to the Lord that He may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
Do you see the responsibility that is our part in having this relationship with Jesus?
1.)Seek the Lord
2.)call on Him
3.)Turn from our wicked deeds.
4.)Cut off every evil thought that comes to our minds
5.)Turn to God to receive His mercy. Not looking to ourselves or the world around us to meet our needs, give us directions, or bring us comfort when life gets hard.
Here is a short video to go along with the teaching.......

God on you.
