In the book of Numbers, chapter 13 we read where Moses sent 12 spies into the land to scout it out and bring back a report to the people. They do their duties and then return to the camp.
What a report.....
The land is a good and spacious land.
It flows with milk an honey.
The spies even brought back some of the fruit that grows in the land to show the people.
Verse 28 opens with the most dangerous words in the English language......BUT!
"Here is our report...everything God has told us is true concerning this new land.........BUT!
What follows next is a report driven by fear and doubt, not on the word of God.
In the Twelve Steps, Step # 6 & 7 involve having God remove our character defects.
Things like selfishness / bitterness/ anger / jealousy / unforgiveness...all of these truly affect the way we see and interact with others and with life in general. Don't you think it strange that 12 went in to spy out the land and of the 12, only 2 had a good report? Did these two not see the same thing the ten did? Yes. But their hearts and spirits were driven by God.
So what is driving you today?
God at work in you....................
or your own nature and character.
