Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth........
Sometimes the simplest and yet most powerful statements are found in the verses that we skim by in our reading.
What could we possibly understand from this verse in Genesis?
Well for one thing, it shows us that God does not seek to prove his own existence. He is! He was! And He shall be! At the start of time. The first second of the first minute of the first hour of the first day, God!
He is a creative, working, establishing God whose plans are righteous and giving.
Right off the bat, God creates the heaven and the earth.
What can we learn about that?
That God's nature is to come down to us. He began in the heaven and then came down to earth.
The perfection of heaven and God's nature is brought to the earth and recreated.
Even in the fall of mankind, God came down from heaven in the form of Jesus the man, in order to secure our future and fate by his death and resurrection.
Matthew 6:10 reads: Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
See that?
His will, His plans, His purposes that exist in heaven are to be brought down and completed here on this planet.
He is in the process of choosing for himself a people. A royal priesthood to carry out the desires and plans laid since the foundation of the world.
That plan is being played out around us every day and with each passing moment we draw closer to the completion and fulfillment of it.
Wow!
Come Lord Jesus!
God on you.................
