Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your conduct be without covetousness. Be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you. So we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
You have to understand who you are in relation to God.
You need to always be mindful of your position in Christ.
Why?
Because if you don't, you will be swept away by the emotions that come when trouble comes your way. When situations arise where there doesn't appear to be any answers, that is the time I need to remind myself exactly who God is, and how I fit into His plans.
One of the best ways to battle negative thoughts and emotions is to have some ammunition available when the onslaught comes. Have a Psalm ready to read out loud.
I know...I know..you'll feel foolish and you'll reason in your head what possible good could it do to read out loud. As silly as this sounds, the Bible says that faith comes by hearing....it didn't say who had to do the speaking. Hearing the word of God being spoken, even by your own voice, is an incredible weapon against attacks by the enemy.
Another valuable tool is music. Worship music! That is why I keep music on most all of the time whether I'm at home, driving in my truck or out at Rapha. The music helps me to stay aware of God's presence. I try to look for music that is Scriptural in it's lyrics, as well as pleasing to my preference of style of music
One final thing that might aid you in helping you to remained focus on who you are to God is the declaration that we say at Rapha. As you read it, you might be thinking, "Well, aren't we just special little people," and you might be thinking that it sounds like we're bragging. Well, we are not. We had nothing to do with our position. God created it and offered us salvation, but when we accepted God's gift of life, we were placed in this new relationship with Him.
Because of Christ's redemption
I am a new creation of infinite worth.
I am deeply loved.
I am completely forgiven.
I am deeply loved.
I am completely forgiven.
I am fully pleasing.
I am totally accepted.
I am totally accepted.
I am absolutely complete in Christ.
When my performance (or behavior) reflects this new identity
That reflection is dynamically unique.
There has never been another person like me in the history of mankind
There has never been another person like me in the history of mankind
Nor will there ever be
God has made me an original
One of a kind person
A special person
And so are you!
Never forget who you are in Christ....
Never forget whose you .....
Never forget whose you .....
You were bought with a great price and redeemed by His hand.
Now go live like it's true.
God on you...

Good stuff! Thanks
Ty...
The declaration still resonate in me, even after all these years. It is truth that is bound by my feelings or dictated to by my failures....it is truth as my Father in heaven sees it.
