Song of Solomon 1:4
Draw me near! We will run after you. The King has brought me into his chambers. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine.
Good morning....
Kind of rolling things around in my brain that happened this weekend.
Really good service at VRF this past Saturday. Debbie Handy shared the story of her journey and how she got to where she is today. As with any of us, she has some really good memories and some really bad ones. But the one constant through it all, has been God's presence in her life. Hopefully I'll have her message posted for you to listen to.
Yesterday at Duck Springs Baptist Church was a good time. Got to meet a lot of new folks as well as some not-so-new people. God was gracious and the message seemed relevant for the congregation. One young lady came up to me afterwards all excited. She shared that I had pointed her to some verses that she'd never read before. She had all these notes she'd taken and was going to go home and continue to read back over what we'd covered. That was validation that I had heard God correct and that the message was truly from him.
For our anniversary, we stayed in. Vicki fixed (isn't that a good ol' Southern term..."Fixed" instead of prepared?) a tremendous meal, and feast we did.
Later on there was coffee and cinnamon muffins. Lot's of memories in our conversation yesterday afternoon. "Do you remember?" kind of stuff, and a lot of "What were you doing right now 41 years ago?" We both went to bed last night resting in the knowledge that God has given us a good life together. Blessed beyond measure.
Good reports all around for the people we have been praying for.
Cancer's shrinking...
Word's such as "Very Optimistic" being used by doctor's, when last week these words weren't part of the conversation.
God seems to be leading us, Vineyard Recovery, to be a people of prayer. To stand before Him with the petitions of those who have come to us asking for our prayers. More Lord......truly teach us to pray!
If you are downtown this Friday for First Friday, be sure to stop by Gadsden Vineyard church. The worship band from Vineyard Recovery will be playing. Over the years, God has given us great freedom to take back songs for Him. Songs that were popular have now been reworked and are sung for His glory.
This was event we are hosting is the brain child of Debbie Handy. She asked me if I knew how many take-back songs we had done, to which I replied a few. It was more like 80. So this Friday night, we are going to be doing all these take back songs. Songs like I'm a Believer, Taking Care of Business, In The Midnight Hour, and many others. This is going to be a fun evening and I am so looking forward to it.
Vineyard Recovery will not meet this coming Saturday (Sept. 7). We are taking the night off and will resume on September 14 with Seth Barber as our guest speaker.
God on you.....
