Danny Daniels shared this song with us years ago when he first came to visit with us.
He called the service "Gospel And The Blues". The very fact that God does want to "Take Care Of Us" is a glimpse into the incredible heart of love He has for His creation.
SIn has dominated humanity.
Sin has taken us farther than we wanted to go.
Sin has taken us farther than we wanted to go.
Kept us longer than we wanted to stay.
And cost us more than we wanted to spend.
And cost us more than we wanted to spend.
Yet God has never stopped loving us.
The funny part in all of this, it that the solution to the problem was for God to send someone to intervene on our behalf.
Someone who could break the power of sin.
Someone who could stop the penalty for sin.
And someone who could destroy the presence and works of sin.
Someone who could stop the penalty for sin.
And someone who could destroy the presence and works of sin.
Jesus!
The mandate for such an endeavor is found in Isaiah 61:1-4
The Spirit of the LORD God is upon Me.
Because the LORD has anointed Me to Preach good tidings to the poor.
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted.
To proclaim liberty to the captives
To proclaim liberty to the captives
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
and the day of vengeance of our God.
To comfort all who mourn.
To console those who mourn in Zion.
To give them beauty for ashes.
The oil of joy for mourning.
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
To comfort all who mourn.
To console those who mourn in Zion.
To give them beauty for ashes.
The oil of joy for mourning.
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness,
that they may be called trees of righteousness.
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified
And they shall rebuild the old ruins.
They shall raise up the former desolations of many generations.
Sounds to me like restoration is the order of business.
Restoration of all the destruction that sin/addiction has wrought in the lives that were once trapped in it.
That is some kind of good news. Is it not?
That is some kind of good news. Is it not?
God on you....
