Our History And Call Is All About Worship

Danny Daniels.....
Met him in Anniston at a conference the Anniston Vineyard was hosting back in 2000.
Flannel shirt...jeans....sneakers...
Danny was a kindred spirit.
There are those who can play worship music and never miss a note.
There are those who can astound you with their musical talent and ability.
Then there are those who have all of the above, yet can take you into the very presence of God when they worship.
Such is Danny Daniels.

At time I met Danny, we were in the middle of our Saturday night meetings....HOUSE OF BLUE.
Think of it as roadhouse worship...
I knew that Danny would be a perfect fit for what we were doing, so we played phone/e-mail tag for a number of months until an invitation to come and lead worship was extended.
In 2002, the Colorado Express came rolling it and Danny joined us for a Saturday night throw down for Jesus. Danny brought his partner in music, one Randy Rigsby.

I still play the tape from that night...
Texas blues....
Take back songs.....(Sorry Joan Osborne).
And teaching from the word like this man had never heard.
Danny could teach the word....
God gave Danny the ability to put the cookies on the lower shelf so the kiddies could get to them.

When we moved to Rapha, back in 2006, Danny made the journey twice to come and play for the guys.
He especially liked coming out and being with the guys.....
I remember his last visit with us, he was singing a hymn...very soft and very much under the unction of God's Holy Spirit. Out of no where the hymn moved into "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"....as Danny sang of moving from this life to the next, and standing in the front of the object of our worship....Jesus Christ.
As the song was being sung, there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

As a church movement, the Vineyard is 30+ years old. John Wimber, founder, use to tell us that once a movement turns 30, it begins to change to an institution. I see that truth happening with every passing day.
Danny was one of the pioneers of our movement. He wrote some of the earliest worship songs that  are still being sung today. That is I have been blessed over the past few years to have people who were there at the first when the Vineyard was born, to come to our church in Gadsden....
Danny Daniels....
Randy Rigsby....
Carl Tuttle.....
John and Marie Barnett....
And their friends...
Chris Lizotte.....
Ryan Delmore.....
As a fellowship we have been blessed beyond measure that this individuals would make the trek to Gadsden, Alabama.
To give of the own time and talent to worship with us, and teach us the Word.
With this, I will close...
Thanks for letting me share...

God on you...
