MERCY ME

Psalm 95:1 /  Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our Salvation.

Last night was our first Thursday night meeting @ the ReCovery Church. The word I kept hearing over and over this morning as I wrote in my journal was that this first meeting was a "SEED BED". That God had planted in those present last night those things He wants to come forth in our lives.

The worship was "new" even the songs were old. They connected us to our past and the goodness of God we've seen over the years in our own lives. Sometimes we need to revisit the past in order to regain a new perspective of where we are today. Below is a list of our worship.

#1 - "YOU ARE HOLY" /  A declaration of who God is. That His holiness is beyond our comprehension, yet He gives us glimpses into His nature, His character, and His Kingdom plans.

#2 - "Sweet Mercies" /  Let the mercy of God rain down on us and what's more that we are aware of what God's mercy to us truly is. May we never take for granted the mercy, love, and compassion that has been made available to us. Not for what we've done, or who we are.......but because this is God's nature.

#3 - "River Of Delight" /  Where are you taking a stand? Where have you planted your flag (so to speak) and declared your allegiance to either this world Or to God. As Rich Mullins sang, "The stuff of earth competes for the allegiance I only to the giver of all good things."

#4 = "Merciful God" /  God just doesn't dispense mercy.........He IS mercy. And it is the mercy of God that keeps you, and me and this whole cockeyed worlds from slipping over the edge into total darkness. Imagine what it will be like when we actually stand before Him and see those eyes of mercy...feel the touch of His hands of mercy...and hear the voice that has called out to us across the years.

If you haven't guessed it by now, the message last night was on the mercy of God. We need to re-focus our thoughts and direction to embrace and seek out the mercy of God. To be more aware of what this mercy means in our every day life.

We will be hosting our breakfast give-away this coming Saturday (Jan. 7th) so come out and join us. And...we will be back next Thursday night - 6:30 p.m. for another meeting.
May you find God this day, and may you allow Him to change you.

God On You........
