New Beginnings

Once more into the breach. New week, new day, another opportunity to change. You may disagree with me, but I don't think you ever stop changing as the Holy Spirit continues to work inside you. I think one of the most destructive mindsets is when a believer feels like they have arrived. They are at the pinnacle of their relationship with Jesus. Nothing else is needed. No more work to do. They belong to a church. They tithe. They sing in the choir. They read their Bible. They even witness, but there is nothing more God need do inside of them.

Jesus used farming a lot in the parables he told. Planting, watering, and sowing/ reaping. I think he did so because of it was so close to the work that God does in His children. All we truly want is the harvest. Open the windows and pour out your blessings LORD! We're not really interested in breaking up the fallow ground of our hearts in order to let God plant inside of us. What is it He plants? How about the "Fruit" of the Holy Spirit? All the positive characteristics that change us more to look like our elder brother, Jesus. Those are brought forth over time, it isn't an instant "poof-o" thing.

Psalm 1:3 reads that we will be like "Trees planted along the riverbank bearing fruit in due season without fail, and our leaves will never wither and in all we do we will prosper."
We will bear fruit in due season, or when the time is right.
You don't grow watermelons in the winter time. You plant, water, weed, and harvest at the appropriate time.

Today, I have to be patient and allow God's plantings in my life to produce.
I have to realize that He is in control.
Don't be anxious.
Wait in hope...

God on you.....

Verse of the Day:
Revelation 22:17
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let each one who hears them say, "Come." Let the thirsty ones come----anyone who wants to. Let them come and drink the water of life without charge.
