Saturday night was awesome.
Ministry broke out during worship.
Guys streamed to the front and we began to pray over them for God to complete the work that had begun.
I never tire of seeing God come and touch a group of men.
To see them respond in different ways.
Some weeping....
Some with their eyes closed and heads raised.
Some just standing there, never having experienced anything like this before. Not knowing what to say or do, but just the sober realization that God was at work in them.
The message from Saturday night is now available in our podcast section.
David (the soon to be King) was hiding out for his life in a cave.
Not the place of choice for future royalty, but sometimes God takes us into these dark places so that there are no distractions. There in that cave, began the start of a group of men who would follow David.
There in that dark, damp, lonely place, God worked on David's character, changing him into the man who would be king.
The church today wants to exclude character in order to concentrate on the anointing from God. To do this is the same as giving a room full of 6 year-olds a loaded pistol..........someone is going to get hurt.
IF you trace the trouble and scandal that has plagued the church, you will find that it stems from lack of character. Great men of God who moved under the anointing (the Holy Ghost) fell because they never allowed God to develop their character. What is character? I heard it best described as "Doing the right thing even when no one is watching."
God on you....
