DO NOT GIVE ME A CHRISTLESS CHRISTMAS

Isaiah 9:6 - "And His name will be called.............."

As we enter this Christmas season, I am made painfully aware that the world really wants a Christ-less Christmas. It wants a slick rendition that celebrates "Self". Happy families gather around perfect Christmas trees to exchange The perfect gift. Maybe they all run out on Christmas morning to find that car or truck they've always wanted, sitting in their driveway with a huge red bow attached to it.

I say Christmas....the world says "Happy holiday's". How sad is this? And what is even more sad is the simple fact that Christ is pushed farther away from the collective conscience of our country to the point that no one truly remembers the reason we celebrate this time of year. That the truth is, the world lay in spiritual darkness on the night of the birth of Messiah. The Scripture had longed pointed to the night of His birth, but such passages had grown dust covered and lay outside the realm of possibility.

Here at the lowest point of a nations soul, a group of shepherds received a word sent from heaven on the voices of a heavenly host. A proclamation that THE answer had finally come to this earth. Messiah was born. The Savior of all mankind had left the royal realm of heaven to take up a place in a stable. Wrapped in clothes and placed in a manger. Not exactly the place most would have looked to for answers, but here He was.

Now some thousands of years later that birth still affects humanity to this very day. The world spins in a celebration of self, yet the one who occupied that manger stands as the only way to have life......real life.....abundant life...eternal life. If you do not know of this Jesus I have written about this morning, may you find Him today, and may your Christmas this year be filled to overflowing with His presence in you and your home.

Merry Christmas from the "B's" in Attalla
