A lot happens when you lay your burdens down. Laying them down means that you release them.......you don't carry them any more.....you leave them where they lay. In this case, at the feet of Jesus. After all He did mention something about "casting all our cares.....anxieties.....fears...doubts...and cares to Him." Seems like if He asked us to do this then the least we could do would be to do it.
Have you ever noticed that the world cares not one wit about taking your burdens away? All it's good for it to heap more on you. Oh, there are empty promises the world makes about how if you engage in what they offer, you'll feel so much better about life. Trouble is that trouble is still there while you go frolicking through the tulips.
I want something real. Something that is not going to wear out by the spiritual weather of this world. Something that is time tested and has worked in the lives of others. That something has a name......and that name is Jesus. It's as easy as Steps # 1....2...and 3.
