Very simple, if you look with eyes of faith. There are two forces at work in this world. #1 - the kingdom of darkness under the rule of Satan, and #2 - the Kingdom of God, ruled by the Almighty God that seeks to free mankind from the works and power of the dark rule of Satan.
Two.....Only two. The prize? Me...my soul....where I will spend eternity. One operates from pure hatred and evil. The other from all that is good, just and fair. Ever since Jesus came into our time and space, the battle has grown fiercer, and we see evidence of this in our own nation as it appears that common sense has been replaced by selfish-sense.
Interesting reading in the book of John this morning. John 3:19-21: "This is the verdict. Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."
Just in case you haven't read the ending of this conflict, God wins. In fact, at no point in this battle was God ever in trouble of losing to the darkness. His plans for humanity are "yes and amen". In other words, they cannot be stopped. Oh, they may not look like what we think they should, but rest assured that He will be victorious. This victory insures that I, because of turning will and life over to His care, will spend eternity with Him. Can't really explain the in's and out's of how this whole thing works, or what it will look like, but I do place my faith in Him and His word. Who are you trusting in? What are you trusting in? Don't mean to sound uppity, but if it ain't God, then you might consider taking a look at what Scripture says. Don't just take it in with your eyes and your brain. Let your heart process what you read, and at the same time ask God to reveal His truth to you. You might be surprised as to what happens.
Well, it's time for the first cup of coffee of the morning. Vicki will be getting up here in about 11 minutes and we will start our day. Bless you for stopping by the Greene Street Letters this morning. And as always...
God on you...
